I bought these because my old dog needed her foot bandaged and, left uncovered, the bandage got dirty or came off easily. These work great to protect the bandage, but might not work for everyone. She doesn't walk much and I can see how an active dog on rough terrain might wear right through them in one outing.
For starters, let me say that these are made of a thin, "tyvek" type of material with no padding, and are held on by two thin elastic loops attached to the sides of the boot, around the ankle. Here are my observations:
-I found the elastic to be a little loose (especially because we were between sizes, but because I was attempting to protect a bandaged foot, I sized up.) I found that putting a half-knot in the elastic next to where it attached tightened it up sufficiently to keep it on but not so much that it constricted her leg.
-The booties go on easily. (They are essentially small bags with elastic bands on the sides.)
-When I did put one of these on an unbandaged foot, the pads of my dog's foot seemed to catch on the inside of the boot, which has a fabric-like texture, and seemed to pull the boot off. Turning them inside out, with the slick side on the inside seemed to help with that issue, but then using the elastic was akward.
-Because I'm dealing with a foot with a wound, it's nice to have disposable booties.
Bottom line, these worked great for my old dog and our situation.Get more detail about Simple Solution Nooby's Disposable Dog Booties, Small.
