It sucked out water at a very high rate even after adjusting the flow. I don't know what tank size minimum is best but I bought it primarily to use on my new 55 gallon tank and the rate issue is not a problem. The only thing with larger tanks is obviously it takes longer so be wary of your water bill. In the future I think I'll get some kind of system with an electric pump to save on water usage.
