After trying at least 8 different brands in all price ranges, these are the boots for my little male Chihuahua! We never made it to the front gate before other boots would start flipping off, which made our winter walks miserable with too many stops to "reboot". I used to feel I cut off the circulation in his ankles by trying to cinch other boots tight enough to stay on, and he'd still lose them anyway. Needless to say, he wasn't overly fond of boots.
However, these rubber Pawz booties are easy to put on, and my dog acted like he was footloose and fancy free while wearing them! No trouble whatsoever in running along and the boots stayed on the entire time! The Pawz booties just hung in there, and he pranced along as if he thought he was so handsome in his lemon yellow feet! Am anxious to test them in the snow and icy sidewalks, but for muck and rain (so far) these boots performed great. After a short (8 block) walk, the boots showed no sign of wear at all, so I think I will get quite a few wearings out of them before they need to be replaced. Since 12 come to a pack, they should last us a season or two. I am thrilled, these really work well! I think they protect the feet from adverse temperature extremes the same way rubber gloves protect your hands from hot or cold water...same principle here. Anyway, make sure you get the right size...my other Chihuahua wears a size tiny, and yes, it DOES make a difference. She throws off the xxsmall booties, but the size tiny stay on. Thankfully, the sizes are different colors so I know which size goes on which dog.
